Eventus Legal are seeking a Private Client Legal Secretary to join a well-regarded law firm in Birmingham, West Midlands. This is a full-time, permanent job within a busy Private Client department, offering the opportunity to work alongside experienced legal professionals in a supportive environment. This position provides a varied workload, long-term career prospects and the opportunity to further develop your legal support skills within an established team.

About the Role

As a Legal Secretary, you will play a key role in supporting the Private Client team with the efficient management of client matters and day-to-day operations. This is a varied and rewarding job that would suit an organised individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced legal environment and takes pride in delivering high standards of client service and administrative support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a central point of support for fee earners across the Private Client department
  • Managing diaries, appointments and scheduling requirements to ensure efficient workflow
  • Liaising professionally with clients, colleagues and external contacts
  • Supporting the department with document management and administrative processes
  • Maintaining organised electronic and paper filing systems
  • Preparing legal correspondence and documentation to a high standard
  • Audio typing and transcription of dictations with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Assisting with data entry and maintaining accurate client records
  • Supporting reporting and information tracking using Microsoft Excel
  • Managing incoming communications and responding appropriately where required
  • Prioritising workloads effectively to ensure deadlines are met
  • Providing general administrative assistance to support the wider team

About You

To be successful in this Legal Secretary job, you will have previous experience working within a legal support environment and be confident managing a varied workload. You will enjoy working as part of a team while maintaining a proactive and professional approach to your responsibilities. Strong organisational skills and a commitment to delivering excellent client service are essential.

You should also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Previous experience as a Legal Secretary, Private Client Legal Secretary or within a similar legal support position
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
  • A proactive approach and the ability to work independently when required
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional approach when handling confidential and sensitive information
  • Positive and collaborative attitude with a strong client-focused mindset
