This is an opportunity to lead a children’s home where you play a central role in shaping the quality and direction of care, not just maintaining day-to-day operations.
You’ll be given the autonomy to influence the home’s ethos, support and develop your team, and make informed decisions that enhance outcomes for young people with complex needs. Alongside this, you’ll receive structured support in areas such as safeguarding, Ofsted compliance, and staff leadership, enabling you to continuously strengthen your management capability and progress professionally.

Key ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for the overall management of a residential children’s home, ensuring that children and young people are safe, supported, and treated with dignity and respect.
Your role will include leading the staff team through supervision, coaching, and clear operational direction. You’ll develop and maintain care plans, behaviour support plans, and risk assessments tailored to individual needs.
You will collaborate closely with children, families, external professionals, and partner agencies, ensuring full compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding requirements, and best practice in residential childcare.
In addition, you will oversee budgets, resources, and administrative functions, foster an inclusive and supportive environment, and continuously evaluate service delivery to drive ongoing improvement.
Requirements- Proven minimum 2 years experience as a home manager
- Proven minimum 4 years experience in a residential children’s home
- Consistent Good or Outstanding Ofsted Judgements.
- Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Children and Young People’s Workforce
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (preferred)
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to commute/relocate:

Experience:
- Home Manager: 2 years (required)
- Children's Residential: 4 years (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Level 4 in Children's & Young People's Workforce (required)
- Driving Licence (required)
- Level 5 in Leadership and Management (preferred)
