The Head of Operational Delivery is responsible for the end‑to‑end operational planning and execution of immersive experiences, ensuring safe, efficient, and commercially successful delivery across all sites. This role leads the operational design process, oversees installation and de‑rig of sets and technical infrastructure, owns health, safety, and security planning, and drives commercial performance through disciplined cost control and operational optimisation.

The role acts as the operational bridge between creative, technical, commercial, and onsite delivery teams, translating concept into safe, scalable, and repeatable live experiences.


KEY RESPONSABILITIES

  • Lead operational design to ensure creative concepts are deliverable within safety, spatial, technical, budgetary, and time constraints.
  • Develop comprehensive delivery plans covering build schedules, resourcing, planning, access, audience flow, and contingencies.
  • Embed operational planning from concept through to commercial approval.
  • Own installation, fit-out, build and removal of all scenic, technical, and infrastructure elements.
  • Manage construction programmes, contractors, venue coordination, and site readiness.
  • Deliver efficient de‑rig and reinstatement with minimal cost, risk, and downtime.
  • Hold overall responsibility for health and safety compliance across all sites.
  • Lead development and approval of RAMS, emergency planning s, crowd management, and security strategies.
  • Act as senior operational authority during live delivery, with clear escalation and decision‑making.
  • Champion a strong safety culture across teams, and partners.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day live operation delivery, ensuring a consistent, high‑quality guest experience.
  • Ensure staffing models, rostering, training, and operational procedures support performance, safety, and service standards.
  • Lead operational incident management, problem resolution, and post‑event reviews.
  • Drive commercial performance through budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Manage operational budgets, suppliers, and contracts in partnership with finance and procurement.
  • Identify efficiencies, scalability opportunities, and margin improvements without compromising safety or experience.
  • Support pricing, capacity modelling, and yield optimisation with operational insight.
  • Lead and develop multi‑disciplinary operational teams, including site, technical, production, and contractors.
  • Partner closely with Creative, Production, Technical, Commercial, and Marketing teams to ensure aligned delivery.
  • Act as the primary operational interface with venues, licensors, authorities, emergency services, and regulators.
  • Capture learnings and embed continuous improvement into future delivery.
  • Develop scalable operational frameworks, and standards to support touring, and multi-site rollouts.
  • Champion operational excellence and innovation in immersive experiences.


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Senior operational leader with experience delivering immersive experiences, live events, attractions, or themed entertainment.
  • Proven delivery of complex builds and live, public-facing operations
  • Strong expertise in health & safety, risk management, and security planning.
  • Commercially astute, with experience managing significant budgets and contracts.
  • Able to translate creative vision into safe, practical, and efficient operations.
  • Highly effective in planning, organisation, and stakeholder management.

Desirable

  • Experience delivering touring or multi‑site immersive experiences.
  • Understanding of audience flow, capacity management, and crowd behaviour.
  • Formal H&S qualifications or relevant professional memberships.

Experience operating within licensed, regulated, or high‑risk environments.
