Teaching Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEN school in the B32 area of Birmingham for a SEN Teaching Assistant. The successful candidate will be patient, caring, and enthusiastic about supporting pupils with additional needs, contributing positively to their education and overall wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored one-to-one or small group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
- Assist teaching staff in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet individual learning goals.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and social interaction through positive reinforcement and consistent care.
- Support pupils with daily routines, emotional regulation, and sensory needs.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents/carers to ensure the best possible outcomes for each child.
About You:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs in an educational, care, or community setting.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A proactive attitude and genuine passion for supporting young people.
- An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
Desirable:
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Health and Social Care, or equivalent).
- Knowledge of autism support strategies, PECS, or Makaton.
- Experience working in a specialist school environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
