PE Global is currently recruiting for an experienced Contract Manager to join a leading international engineering and energy infrastructure organisation delivering major EPC projects across the UK power sector.
Location: Birmingham (Hybrid) with regular site visits to London & East Anglia
Contract Type: Contract (12 months)
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of contracts and/or projects, ensuring compliance with internal contract and claim management procedures.
- Lead and support commercial and contractual activities across project execution phases.
- Develop and implement contract strategies aligned with project scope, schedule, pricing and risk considerations.
- Identify contractual risks and opportunities within contract baselines, including terms & conditions, specifications, schedules and technical documentation.
- Manage commercial aspects of contracts
- Ensure all contractual obligations are fulfilled by all parties throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support negotiation strategies alongside legal representatives and assist with dispute resolution activities where required.
- Provide contractual guidance to cross-functional project teams and promote best practice contract management processes.
- Assist in drafting, negotiating and finalising agreements during both sales and project execution stages.
- Maintain accurate contract records and monitor contract performance, deviations and change management activities.
Candidate Requirements
- BSc in Quantity Surveying is essential.
- RICS accreditation (or working towards certification) is preferred.
- Legal qualification or law background advantageous.
- Proven experience in Contract Management and Subcontract Management within: EPC projects, Power generation, Substations or Converter stations
- Strong understanding of standard form contracts and common law contract execution.
- Demonstrated experience in: Contract drafting, Change management, Claims management
- Ability to engage effectively with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders on complex contractual matters.
- Experience supporting dispute resolution, litigation or arbitration processes would be beneficial.
Additional Information
- Hybrid working model with office attendance in Birmingham a couple of times per month.
- Regular travel to project sites in London and East Anglia will be required.
