Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Motor Finance OR Asset Backed Lending - #2076333

UK | Flexible Location | SMF2 Role

We are seeking a hands-on, entrepreneurial CFO to lead the Finance function in a fast-growing, FCA-regulated lending business spanning motor finance and asset backed lending.

This is not a “reporting only” CFO role. You will build the finance function, shape the funding strategy, and sit at the centre of growth, regulation, and investor relationships.

SMF2 responsibility under FCA SM&CR applies.

• Build and lead the entire Finance function from scratch
• Shape financial strategy, planning, and performance
• Lead debt funding, warehouse facilities, and asset backed lending
• Own liquidity, treasury, and capital structure
• Deliver regulatory reporting and FCA engagement
• Build systems, controls, and scalable finance operations
• Partner directly with CEO, Board, investors, and lenders

• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
• 15+ years senior finance leadership experience
• Strong background in lending (motor finance or ABL)
• Experience building finance functions in growth environments
• Exposure to structured funding or securitisation
• Comfortable in regulated, fast-moving businesses

• A builder, not just a maintainer
• Comfortable operating at Board level and in the detail
• Entrepreneurial, commercially sharp, and execution focused
• Strong on governance, regulation, and risk awareness
