Accounts Manager

Location: King’s Heath, Office based
Salary: Starting at £35,000 DOE + discretionary bonus
Job Type: Full-time

We are seeking an Accounts Manager to join a dynamic and fast-moving business. This role is crucial for supporting the finance function in a busy and ever-changing environment. You will be instrumental in managing payroll, invoicing, and the financial operations of multiple live projects.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Prepare payroll data for circa 70 PAYE staff, ensuring accuracy before submission to the external accountant.
  • Collate working hours and input into job sheets for payment and invoicing purposes.
  • Manage a mix of payment terms across multiple projects.
  • Prepare information for and support the submission of VAT returns.
  • Handle attachments of earnings orders (AEOs).
  • Process employee expenses, including fuel costs and other project-related claims.
  • Produce quotes for new clients and incoming work.
  • Coordinate accommodation bookings (e.g. Airbnb) for project teams.
  • Arrange and manage logistics such as hire vehicles and other operational requirements.
  • Support day-to-day finance operations across rehearsals, test builds, and live work.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality, especially when working on sensitive or high-profile projects.
  • Use Sage to manage financial records and reporting.
  • Provide flexible support to ensure the smooth delivery of projects and business operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in an Accounts Manager or similar finance role.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes.
  • Proficiency in using Sage is essential.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage high-volume, fast-paced workloads.
  • Flexible approach to work with a willingness to support wider business needs.
  • Proactive mindset with excellent attention to detail.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.
