Management Accountant

East Midlands – Largely remote


A growing, purpose-driven organisation is looking for a commercially minded Management Accountant to join its finance team and play a key role in shaping financial insight and performance.

This is more than a reporting role. You’ll be at the centre of the business, turning numbers into meaningful insight, supporting decision-making, and working closely with operational teams to improve outcomes. The environment is fast-paced, evolving, and offers real scope to influence how finance adds value.

The role

You’ll take ownership of the monthly reporting cycle, ensuring financial information is accurate, timely, and genuinely useful to the wider business. Alongside this, you’ll work closely with stakeholders to understand performance, challenge assumptions, and highlight opportunities for improvement.

You’ll also contribute to planning activity, helping to build budgets, refine forecasts, and support longer-term thinking through scenario analysis and modelling.

What you’ll be doing

· Producing monthly financial reports with clear, insightful commentary that supports decision-making

· Investigating variances, identifying trends, and highlighting risks and opportunities

· Working with stakeholders to understand performance drivers and improve financial outcomes

· Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, including regular reforecast cycles

· Analysing profitability across services, customers, or business areas

· Contributing to business cases, investment decisions, and cost analysis

· Strengthening financial controls and supporting period-end processes

· Improving reporting tools, dashboards, and processes to drive efficiency and clarity

· Using data and systems to enhance insight, including Excel-based models and reporting tools

What they’re looking for

· A part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (or equivalent experience)

· Strong analytical thinking with the ability to interpret and explain data clearly

· Confidence working with stakeholders and presenting financial information in a practical, accessible way

· Solid experience in a management accounting or financial analysis role

· Advanced Excel capability, including modelling

Nice to have

· Experience in a regulated or service-led environment

· Exposure to data visualization tools such as Power BI
