SF Partners are supporting a fast-growing organisation is seeking to appoint a Head of Finance to lead a key finance operations function within the business. This organisation is continuing to invest heavily in transformation, process improvement, and operational excellence.
This is a senior leadership role within the finance function, responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, driving continuous improvement across finance operations, and leading a high-performing accounting team within a complex, fast-paced environment.
The Role
The Head of Finance will take ownership of accounting operations across the UK business, ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust controls, and compliance with both group and statutory requirements.
The role will also play a central part in finance transformation initiatives, partnering closely with regional and global finance teams to improve systems, processes, and operational efficiency.
This position requires a hands-on finance leader who is comfortable operating strategically while remaining close to the detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting and finance team.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes, ensuring compliance with both group and statutory accounting standards.
- Drive continuous improvement across accounting operations, controls, and reporting processes.
- Partner with operational and commercial stakeholders to ensure effective financial governance and reporting.
- Present financial and balance sheet analysis to senior leadership teams.
- Support the implementation of finance transformation and process optimisation projects.
- Ensure strong compliance, governance, and stakeholder management across the finance function.
Candidate Profile
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
- Significant experience within accounting, reporting, and finance operations leadership roles.
- Proven background leading and developing finance teams within complex organisations.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience managing statutory and group reporting requirements.
- Experience improving, scaling, or transforming finance processes and controls.
- Strong systems capability, with ERP experience highly advantageous.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Comfortable operating within a fast-paced, evolving environment.
