Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a background in SEN schools, looking to transition into a mainstream setting with enhanced support provisions?

Do you have experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASD), complex needs, or associated learning difficulties within specialist environments such as SEN schools, resource bases, or enhanced learning provisions?

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with several mainstream schools across the Solihull Borough that have Enhanced Learning Provisions (ELPs) and Resource Hubs supporting pupils with additional needs. We are currently recruiting experienced SEN Teaching Assistants for both part-time and full-time opportunities.

These roles involve supporting students with ASD and additional learning needs within specialist provisions attached to mainstream schools. Support may be delivered on a 1:1 basis or within small-group settings, helping pupils access learning, develop social communication skills, and thrive within a mainstream environment.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working within SEN schools, specialist provisions, resource hubs, or enhanced learning environments

  • Work effectively as part of a classroom and pastoral support team

  • Have strong experience supporting children and young people with Autism (ASD) and associated learning difficulties

  • Understand the social, emotional, sensory, and academic needs of pupils with additional needs

  • Be confident supporting pupils with challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies

  • Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with pupils, staff, and parents

  • Bring a calm, patient, and nurturing approach to supporting learners

  • Be adaptable and confident working within a mainstream school environment while supporting specialist needs

This role would particularly suit candidates with backgrounds in SEN education, health and social care, SEMH settings, behaviour support, youth mentoring, psychology, care work, or specialist 1:1 support roles who are looking to bring their expertise into mainstream schools with dedicated SEN provisions.
