Nurture the Children International is seeking a passionate and experienced volunteer Compliance & Legal Lead to help strengthen our governance, safeguard our operations, and support our mission to improve outcomes for children worldwide.


This is a unique opportunity to contribute your legal and compliance knowledge to a growing international nonprofit, working alongside a dedicated and purpose-driven team.



Role Overview


As the Compliance & Legal Lead, you will oversee legal and regulatory compliance across the organisation, ensuring we operate ethically, transparently, and in line with relevant laws and best practices.


You will play a key role in shaping policies, advising leadership, and mitigating risk as we expand our impact globally.



Key Responsibilities


* Lead on organisational compliance, governance, and legal frameworks

* Develop, review, and update policies (e.g., safeguarding, data protection, governance)

* Ensure compliance with international nonprofit regulations and standards

* Advise senior leadership on legal risks and mitigation strategies

* Support contract review and partnership agreements

* Establish and monitor internal compliance processes

* Promote a culture of accountability and ethical practice



What We’re Looking For


* Background in law, compliance, governance, or a related field

* Experience working with nonprofits, NGOs, or international organisations (preferred)

* Strong understanding of regulatory and legal frameworks

* Ability to work independently in a remote environment

* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

* Passion for social impact and child-focused initiatives
