Volunteer Social media content creator | Gilgal Birmingham - #1801610
Gilgal Birmingham
Date: 7 hours ago
City: Birmingham
Contract type: Full time
Work schedule: Full day

Assist our Charity Shop team with gathering and posting engaging content to social media.
What difference will you make?
Gilgal Birmingham is a refuge supporting women and children fleeing from domestic abuse. All proceeds from our Charity Shop go towards maintaining high standards of care and support for our residents. Our little Charity Shop opened in November on Bristol South Road, Birmingham. As we are a very small charity and our Shop is a little out-of-the-way, we are struggling to obtain sufficient foot traffic. We need to increase our online presence, and encourage users to both pop in to the Shop and to buy from our Vinted.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with experience in social media marketing; predominantly on Facebook and Instagram, but TikTok is also a bonus. The volunteer needs to be able to visit the Shop in person on a regular basis to gather content. The volunteer should be friendly and personable, happy to interact with both staff and customers in the Shop. We need someone reliable who can help us increase our posting quality and consistency, and who is willing to share their knowledge and expertise with the Shop staff to improve their own content creation skills. Please be aware that at this time, Gilgal are only able to accept female volunteers onsite at our refuge and Charity Shop - the Genuine Occupational Requirement (Schedule 9, Equality Act 2010) applies.
What will you be doing?
We're looking for a passionate and enthusiastic social media content creator who can help us grow our Charity Shop's online presence. The Shop currently has TikTok, Instagram and Facebook accounts - we need someone who can capture engaging content onsite at our Shop, edit and post it in an effective way, and optimise our posting schedule to reach as many new followers as possible. Hours the Shop is open Mon-Sat, 9.30-4.30. Happy to have the Volunteer attend at any time during these hours as suits their schedule, and editing can be done flexibly as needed. Reporting to Shop Manager Rose and Communications Manager Amy.
