Operations Manager - Tutoring Services Location: Hybrid/Remote

Salary: Up to £55K / Year

Responsibilities

Full-Time | Permanent Leader Group is proud to be representing our client in the search for a transformational leader in education. Are you a strategic and driven leader with a passion for building impactful services from the ground up? Do you understand how to navigate local authority commissioning, drive commercial growth, and lead high-performing teams? We're supporting the launch of an exciting new tutoring service focused on improving educational outcomes across communities-and we're seeking a dynamic Operations Manager to lead its creation and long-term success. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and launch a high-impact educational service, including all operational systems and frameworks
  • Lead commercial engagement, promoting the service to Local Authorities and other commissioners
  • Own and implement a robust marketing strategy to ensure strong brand presence and outreach
  • Embed quality assurance processes to maintain service excellence
  • Oversee all aspects of budgeting and financial management
  • Lead recruitment and onboarding, building a talented and motivated team from the ground up
  • Navigate tutoring funding mechanisms and commissioner expectations with confidence
  • Build lasting relationships with stakeholders, partners, and clients
  • Manage and nurture a diverse team, ensuring strong HR processes and a healthy organisational culture

About You

  • Proven experience launching and leading new services or programmes
  • Deep understanding of education or tutoring service commissioning and funding
  • Successful track record in commercial promotion and stakeholder engagement
  • Experience leading large-scale operations and HR functions
  • Expertise in budget management with a focus on cost-effectiveness and impact
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset ready to take on a new challenge
