Are you ready to elevate your career and lead a thriving team within a prominent property and construction consultancy? Our client, a leading UK-based property and construction consultancy, is actively seeking a Building Surveyor Director to join their Birmingham office. This pivotal role is central to expanding their building consultancy services and reinforcing their reputation across the Midlands.Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake a comprehensive range of building surveying commissions, including surveys, design and specification, project monitoring, employers agent, party wall matters, and dilapidations, providing expert advice to diverse clients.
  • Lead and grow the Birmingham Building Consultancy team, taking responsibility for recruitment, mentorship, and overall team performance, whilst fostering strong working relationships with colleagues in other offices.
  • Drive business development for the Building Consultancy service in the Midlands, actively expanding the client base at local and regional levels and promoting the company's various service lines.
  • Manage fee generation and targets for the Birmingham Building Consultancy team, ensuring profitability and efficient debt collection in liaison with finance and the Head of Building Consultancy.
  • Prioritise client care at all times, ensuring requests are handled effectively and efficiently, and that all work is completed competently, correctly, and within required timeframes, adhering to best practice and legal compliance.
To be successful for this role you will have:
  • MRICS qualification as a minimum, coupled with a practical understanding of commercial property and building surveying procedures.
  • Proven business development skills and the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and numerical skills, adept at report writing, with an outgoing persona and outstanding communication abilities.
  • A strong blend of team player and leader qualities, capable of working independently with minimal supervision whilst also leading and assisting a team in meeting deadlines under pressure.
  • Sharp commercial acumen, including knowledge of competitors and business strategies, alongside a current, full driving licence.
