About the Role:We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Setter with strong knowledge of sliding head lathes to join a well-established precision engineering company based in Oldbury. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled machinist looking for a long-term role with the potential to go permanent.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set and operate CNC sliding head machines (e.g., Star, Citizen, or similar)
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Perform tool changes and offsets as required
• Conduct first-off and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment
• Maintain high standards of quality and efficiency
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues
• Work collaboratively with the production team to meet deadlines

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a CNC Setter, ideally with sliding head machines
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Good problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
• Flexible and reliable with a strong work ethic
