About the role



As a Retail Assistant at Boots Opticians, you will be a key member of our store team, serving as the first and last point of contact for customers. Your role on the shopfloor involves building strong relationships with customers by understanding their needs and helping them find the right products or services. Your daily tasks may include greeting customers, supporting pre-screening activities for eye-tests, and assisting customers with eyewear solutions



You will have opportunities to develop your knowledge through our industry-leading ‘Step Into Optics’ training programme, which includes workshops and practical on-the-job experience



Your responsibilities will also include:



Ordering, dispensing, and collecting glasses and contact lenses



Supporting eye-tests and pre-screening activities



Providing aftercare support, including repairs and adjustments



Completing operational and administrative tasks related to prescriptions



You will be based in-store and report to the store manager



What you’ll need to have:



A passion for customer care



A desire to learn



It would be great if you also have:



Experience in a retail or clinical environment



Enthusiasm for career development in clinical and non-clinical roles



Flexibility and willingness to support a diverse range of tasks
