Visit us at UST.com.You Are: We are looking for an Engineering Lead to take the helm and lead our technical engagement with a large retail client. This is all part of our journey with them on a digital transformation to build a unified commerce experience for their customers.


Key areas of work will include new customer-centric products, capability-based engineering, improved automation, new product information management and many more as we layer in the ground work for the unified commerce experience. As the Engineering Lead, you will be at the forefront of driving this change and adaptation for our client. Your reach and impact will be across the entirety of our client’s Engineering capability, working with their senior leadership team.


You will be ensuring they are given the tools and support they need to not only deliver great products to their customers but also to continue developing the engineering capability. The role will be a hybrid role with 3 days onsite at the clients’ offices in the Midlands. The Opportunity:Technical decision making and alignment across an entire engineering division


Senior people management - the wins, the misses and any improvements required

Stakeholder management up to CxO - presenting, pitching, clarifying

Career progression / growing leaders and teams

Team culture - assessing setting and embedding culture

Measurement driven approaches across people, process, technology

Arbitrator of difficult prioritisation situations

Spotting problems before they become highly impactful - navigating and pitching accordingly

What you need:Experience of running an engineering function including managing people and a team across multiple geographies

Experience of managing front end, packaged products, QA and Platform software engineers

Experience of managing SAFe Agile team

Experience of SAFe working in a Retail organisations

Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful projects / products throughout its lifecycle.Senior stakeholder management skills

Understanding of modern application designs, ecommerce solutions and MACH architectures.Understanding in the latest automated testing methodologies and CI/CD processes
