Job Title: Commercial Litigation & International Arbitration Associate/Senior Associate circa 4-7PQE
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £80-100k DOE.
We are seeking a bright and ambitious Associate or Senior Associate specialising in international commercial disputes to join our market-leading clients' globally esteemed team. Their Tier 1 practise advises on high-value and complex litigation and international arbitration, representing a diverse range of international clients across various sectors.
Role Overview:
As a key member, you will gain direct experience in all aspects of dispute avoidance, management, and resolution for high-quality and complex disputes. While based in their Birmingham office, this role will occasionally involve travel to client sites and other UK and international offices.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Advise on all aspects of dispute avoidance, management, and resolution for complex disputes across multiple sectors.
- Manage disputes and develop strategies for claims, including international arbitration, litigation, adjudication, expert determination, and mediation.
- Provide strategic advice to clients, managing their expectations and ensuring timely project delivery.
- Liaise with clients and attend meetings to ensure clear communication and effective relationship management.
- Drive business development activities across sectors and disciplines.
About You:
While they do not set specific PQE limits, candidates with approximately 4-7 years of experience are likely to possess the necessary skills and expertise. The ideal candidate will:
- Be a qualified Solicitor, preferably in England & Wales or a Commonwealth jurisdiction.
- Have strong litigation experience from a leading regional or City firm, with arbitration experience being desirable, but not essential.
- Possess multi-disciplinary expertise, including litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution.
- Demonstrate a keen interest in supporting clients in one of the firm’s key sectors.
- Exhibit a thorough understanding of the technical issues important to clients.
- Have experience working across jurisdictions with international clients.
- Be capable of building a network of internal and external contacts.
- draught documents in a commercial, client-focused style.
- Adhere to professional standards and all relevant regulatory obligations.
