Financial Controller - #1765835

Meraki Talent are working with a global trading and risk management business to appoint a Finance Controller into their London-based entity. This is a great opportunity to take ownership of the finance function for a UK-regulated company operating across physical and financial markets. The role offers significant autonomy, exposure to senior stakeholders, and the chance to shape finance operations in a growing and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Full ownership of accounting, control, and reporting for the UK-regulated entity
• Preparation of statutory accounts under UK GAAP/IFRS
• Delivery of all regulatory reporting (FCA, HMRC, VAT)
• Oversee the audit process and ensure strong governance standards
• Develop and enhance internal control procedures and financial processes
• Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting cycles
• Support senior leadership with commercial analysis and performance insights
• Collaborate with international finance teams and shared service centres
• Line management and development of one finance team member
  
  
  

Candidate Profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Experience in a regulated environment, preferably financial services
• Strong technical knowledge of UK statutory accounting and regulatory frameworks
• Track record of delivering accurate, timely reporting in a dynamic business
• Experience managing or mentoring junior team members
• Proactive mindset with excellent attention to detail and process improvement skills
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence across teams and geographies
