Customer Service Officer – Social Housing Birmingham - hybrid £24,150 – £28,350 Full-time | Permanent

Are you a people-person with a passion for helping others and getting things done right the first time? Do you thrive in fast-paced environments where no two days are the same?

We're looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Customer Service Officer to join a dedicated team supporting residents and stakeholders in the social housing sector. If you're great on the phone, calm under pressure, and love making things easier for customers — we want to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing professional, high-quality customer service across phone, email, web chat, and in-person.
  • Resolving a wide range of resident enquiries — from new tenant questions and ASB concerns to repairs and safeguarding queries.
  • Accurately recording interactions and updating systems in real time.
  • Gathering feedback and resident insight to help improve services and tailor support.
  • Working closely with internal teams to ensure queries are resolved efficiently and empathetically.
  • Supporting continuous improvement across the service by contributing ideas and embracing new tech.

What you'll bring:

  • Previous experience in a frontline customer service role.
  • A genuine passion for putting residents first and delivering excellent outcomes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills — especially over the phone.
  • Confidence using Microsoft 365 and CRM or case management systems.
  • A flexible, team-oriented approach and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths.

Why apply?

  • Be part of a mission-driven team making a real difference in the lives of residents.
  • Enjoy a varied, rewarding role where your communication and problem-solving skills will shine.
  • Receive full training, ongoing support, and opportunities to grow within the housing sector.

If you're ready to be the first point of contact that residents can rely on — apply today and help shape better housing experiences from day one.
