Transition Project Manager

About the role:

This Transition Project Manager role is a 12- Month fixed term contract within the Integral Business Change & Transition Team, reporting to the Head of Business Change & Transition.

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing and supporting both transition and business change projects from initiation through execution to closure, including ongoing follow ups, project success and benefits tracking, and reporting and escalation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work within established business methodologies and/or frameworks and use appropriate governance tools to support project delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with workstream leads to monitor overall project delivery and track status of key deliverables, risks, and actions, including schedules and milestones.
  • Effectively communicate project-related information to stakeholders and participate in project governance at all levels (project, programme, portfolio, and exec).
  • Organise and facilitate effective internal and external client-facing meetings to achieve desired business results, including but not limited to change management workshops, project status updates, and cross-functional alignment activities.
  • Clarify and communicate (project) objectives including client expectations, status of deliverables, success criteria, and benefits realisation.
  • Leverage problem solving skills to achieve project goals.
  • Develop and deploy project-specific implementation plans encompassing all key areas of process and/or system change, alignment of client/end user capability, and messaging/communications.
  • Lead or participate in the development of the business case for new projects as required.
  • Support bid activity, including creation and/or review of transition content and support (prospective) client engagement activities.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Business Change & Transition Team and other subject matter experts as required to identify and implement best-in-class processes for transition, business change, and project management.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement through post implementation and lessons learnt reviews, with the purpose of enhancing client and/or end user experience, improving financial performance, minimising risk, or creating a competitive advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years direct work experience in a project management capacity.
  • Experience working in a “hard FM” biased services delivery organisation.
  • Transition management experience.
  • Change management experience an advantage but not essential.
  • Project Management certification such as PRINCE2.
  • Excellent professional presence with srong written and oral communication skills.
  • Expert skills in MS Office applications and MS SharePoint.
  • Ability to work under pressure with strong organisational and time management skills to facilitate involvement in multiple projects.
  • Skilled at working effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactive and self-directed in work habits.
  • Process-driven, with an orientation towards continuous process improvement.
  • Previous experience managing internal and external clients and key customers.

The candidate:

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a track record of managing multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful business change and transition projects in a large and diverse organisation. The candidate will have highly developed listening and communication skills, a commercial mindset, strong financial acumen, and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Experience:

Note that this is a national role which will include occasional travel and overnight stays. It is therefore essential that the candidate is able to work flexibly as determined by the needs of the business and holds a full UK driving license.
