Transaction Administrator
Location: Birmingham, B1 BRN
Join our client, a government-owned company responsible for managing and improving England's motorways and major A roads, in this new role as Transaction Administrator.
The Transaction Administrator will be responsible for carrying out routine financial and accounting tasks that support the effective functioning of the organisation’s financial control processes.
This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring transactions are processed in a timely and compliant manner.
Working closely with relevant departments, the Transaction Administrator will handle tasks such as data entry, invoice processing, reconciliation, and other general finance-related duties.
Attention to detail and an organised approach are essential, as is the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
This position is ideal for someone looking to build a solid foundation in finance within a supportive team environment, with opportunities for development and progression within a large, established organisation.
What you’ll be doing:

Processing financial transactions accurately and on time

Investigating and resolving queries from suppliers and colleagues

Verifying calculations and ensuring correct coding of documents

Maintaining accurate records and extracting required information

Supporting reporting tasks and assisting in compiling summaries

Managing vendor setups and minimising payment fraud risk

Liaising with stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of issues
About You:

Basic knowledge of financial/accounting functions gained through similar office experience

Good understanding of financial procedures within a department

Strong customer service skills

Ability to prioritise tasks and manage your own time effectively

Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively

Proficient IT skills

Good organisational skills and attention to detail

Willingness to learn and develop
