Architectural Technician
Location: Birmingham Salary: £35k - £40k Type: Full-time, Permanent
We are working on behalf of a well-established and growing architectural practice based in Birmingham to recruit an experienced Architectural Technician. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and collaborative team of 12 professionals, offering genuine scope for career development within a supportive and design-led studio environment.
The practice has a strong pipeline of projects across a range of sectors, including Residential, Student Living, Care Homes, and Commercial Developments. We are particularly keen to speak with candidates who have experience working on residential schemes, especially those who have previously collaborated with national house builders.
Key Responsibilities:Produce detailed working drawing packages for residential developments.
Assist in coordinating and delivering technical design information from planning through to construction.
Support the Associate in developing buildable and site-ready designs.
Work to meet project milestones and deadlines, with attention to quality and accuracy.
Attend site meetings as needed and liaise with consultants, contractors, and the wider project team.
Proven experience working within the residential/house-building sector.
Strong understanding of current UK Building Regulations and design standards applicable to residential projects.
Experience with site coordination and construction-phase involvement (preferred).
Excellent technical detailing and drawing production skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities; able to build effective working relationships with colleagues and clients.
A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a desire to progress within a growing practice.
Software Proficiency: AutoCAD and Revit Required. SketchUp and Photoshop are Advantageous.
