We’re recruiting for an experienced Senior Engineer to join a leading civil engineering contractor working on high-value groundwork and infrastructure projects across the Birmingham area.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in groundworks, with proven experience managing teams, overseeing setting out, and ensuring works are delivered to the highest standards of safety, quality, and programme.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead day-to-day site engineering and supervise setting out for groundworks (drainage, foundations, roads, etc.)
• Coordinate with site managers, foremen, and subcontractors
• Review drawings, identify issues, and manage technical queries (RFIs/TQs)
• Ensure compliance with ITPs, QA procedures, and H&S standards
• Mentor junior engineers and support project delivery from start to finish

Requirements:

• Extensive groundworks experience in a Senior Engineer or Engineering Lead role
• Proficient in setting out using Total Station/GPS
• Strong knowledge of QA/QC and site documentation
• CSCS (White or Gold), SSSTS or SMSTS preferred
• Right to work in the UK

Desirable:

• Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or similar
• First Aid certification
