We're Hiring: Senior Technical Coordinator / Technical Manager – Residential Construction Birmingham (Exclusive Project) | Full-Time | Competitive Salary + Benefits

Are you a technically strong professional in residential construction with a background in high-rise and complex build types? We’re on the lookout for a Senior Technical Coordinator or Technical Manager to help manage the design process of high-quality residential developments for a fast-growing, design-led developer.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work on an exclusive project in the Birmingham area, with a strong focus on high-rise, concrete frame residential schemes. You'll coordinate the technical aspects of development from pre-planning through to delivery, ensuring buildability, regulatory compliance, and exceptional quality throughout.

Progression is tangible, with large-scale projects already underway and more due to start later this year. Born out of London, our client’s brand is synonymous with quality, and now expanding nationally – offering a unique opportunity to grow with a forward-thinking business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the design process across all stages of high-rise residential developments
  • Oversee technical detailing for concrete frame structures and complex construction elements
  • Lead the preparation and submission of BSR (Building Safety Regulator) Applications
  • Collaborate with architects, consultants, and internal teams to ensure seamless delivery
  • Ensure full compliance with building regulations, NHBC standards, and planning conditions
  • Conduct buildability and value engineering reviews during pre-construction
  • Provide technical support to procurement and construction teams on site
  • Identify and resolve technical risks, ensuring smooth progression through key gateways

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in a technical role within a similar residential developer or contractor, ideally involving high-rise schemes
  • Solid understanding of concrete frame construction methods
  • Hands-on experience preparing BSR Gateway 2 Applications (and/or familiarity with Building Safety Act requirements)
  • Strong knowledge of UK housing standards, planning, and regulatory processes
  • RIBA Part 3 qualified with a BA in Architectural Design (or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
  • Detail-driven, solution-oriented, and confident working on large-scale developments

What’s in It for You?

  • Be part of a national brand known for its design excellence and build quality
  • Work on high-profile residential schemes in a thriving regional hub
  • Join a supportive team with real momentum and room for progression
  • Competitive salary, bonus scheme, and full benefits package
  • A chance to shape the future of housing in the heart of Birmingham
