National Express are recruiting a Pensions Administrator to join our team. Based at our Head Office in Digbeth, the successful candidate will support the accurate and timely internal administration of pension schemes and UK life cover Policy. You will also process contributions and deductions across the business Worksave pension scheme, including the implementation and management of pension salary sacrifice arrangements, and the closed Defined Benefit (LGPS )scheme . Responsible for end-to-end pension processing, from payroll deductions to reconciliation and submissions to pension providers, whilst remaining compliant with legislative and regulatory requirements.
What you'll do:
- Perform the Auto-enrolment process on a periodic basis including opt-ins, opt-outs, refunds and deferments in accordance with legislation
- Distribute timely Auto Enrolment communications to members
- Provide reconciled contribution data & personal data to external administrators in a timely manner adhering to legislative requirements
- Administering the Salary Sacrifice pension scheme in line with statutory legislation, including National Minimum Wage (NMW) regulations
- Provide support to employees as a first point of call for any pension related queries ensuring appropriate feedback and closure
- Provide support and guidance to employees and managers on options for LGPS members which may include retirement quotes
- Ensure that business impact related to LGPS is highlighted by obtaining capital cost from external providers
- Be competent in using the Pension portal to support queries and data submission as required
- Prepare and process LGPS Ill Health pension applications and liaise with MOHS. Calculating tiered release cost to the company for capability cases
- Maintain and monitor Expression of Wish forms for Group Life Assurance
- Assist with preparation of Ill Health data for Group Life Assurance renewals including long term sick assessments and death in service scheme process as required
- Actively manage and handle the communications and inquiries coming into the Pensions inbox
- Carry out Set 2 compliance checks in line with regulator guidelines
What you'll need:
- Proven experience in pension or payroll administration, ideally across both DB and DC schemes
- Knowledge of current pension legislation, including auto-enrolment requirements and statutory deductions
- Understanding of pension salary sacrifice schemes and relevant tax/NI regulations sound payroll knowledge preferable
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Proficiency with payroll software ( itrent ) and Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, lookups, pivot tables)
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
