The KPMG Business Services function is a cornerstone of our UK business, operating from 20 locations and supporting KPMG Central Services. We perform critical activities that help grow, run, and protect KPMG in the UK.

Within Central Services, we are a community of experts in areas such as HR, Learning, Finance, Procurement, Facilities, Business Support, Risk, Legal, Corporate Affairs, and Marketing. Our focus is on driving improved performance with diligence and expertise.

Our Finance team, with a turnover of over £2 billion and nearly 17,000 staff across 22 UK offices, covers a wide range of responsibilities—from supporting business strategy to managing payroll, expenses, accounts payable, and billing.

1. Gain a thorough understanding of the supported business area.


2. Build strong, trusting relationships with stakeholders.


3. Track and report performance KPIs, especially those impacting P&L.


4. Prepare commentaries, MI packs, and briefing papers aligned with business priorities.


5. Drive standardization and efficiency in MI production, challenging exceptions.


6. Manage performance reviews, articulating outcomes and actions.


7. Support Deal Board and pre-engagement forums with budgeting and forecasting.


8. Review in-flight commercial activities to understand margins and learnings.


9. Lead finance-related business planning, budgeting, and forecasting.


10. Deploy processes efficiently, coordinating with stakeholders.


11. Oversee P&L stewardship, ensuring accurate reflection of financial position.


12. Manage cost control processes and spend management.


13. Ensure the team understands and challenges all cost items, escalating issues as needed.


14. Adhere to finance policies, challenge deviations, and seek improvements.


15. Own working capital KPIs, ensuring actions on WIP and debt are taken.


16. Manage team workload, training needs, and performance issues.


17. Support recruitment and team development.


18. Participate in leadership forums and advocate for change initiatives like automation and standardization.

• A qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or significant relevant experience.


• Experience in a similar role.


• Resilience and ability to manage demanding stakeholders.


• Ability to operate strategically and at a detailed level.
