About The Role

As a Workday Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting our HR and business operations by managing stakeholder relationships and overseeing cyclical work and projects. Unlike traditional Business Analysts, you will focus on understanding business needs and translating them into actionable plans without direct hands-on configuration within Workday. Your ability to liaise between stakeholders and technical teams will be essential in driving efficient and effective Workday solutions.

You will be expected to have a strong grasp of Workday Payroll, Compensation, Benefits, ensuring alignment with payroll governance, statutory reporting, and cyclical activities like tax year-end processes. Our team operates uniquely within the Workday ecosystem. While we do not have direct configuration access, we excel in bridging the gap between business needs and technical execution. Our focus on stakeholder engagement and process improvement ensures that our Workday solutions are not only technically sound but also strategically aligned with organisational goals, with this role having a keen emphasis on payroll governance, compensation processes, and benefits administration.

What your days will look like

  • Serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Workday Payroll, Compensation, and Benefits modules, including Workday Extend applications.
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of Workday capabilities and limitations.
  • Collaborating with technical teams to ensure solutions are feasible and align with business goals.
  • Staying current with Workday updates and enhancements to leverage new features for the business.
  • Having a solid understanding of payroll governance, statutory reporting, and cyclical activities such as tax year-end processes.
  • Demonstrating familiarity with Workday Compensation modules and possess experience in running compensation review processes or similar experiences.
  • Showing a solid understanding of Workday Benefits, including salary sacrifice benefits and pension schemes.
  • Working with stakeholders to update them on new functionality and releases and looking for practical solutions to business problems to optimise processes in a sustainable way.
  • Working with technical teams globally and off shore support functions ensuring processes are delivered successfully for the firm.
  • Participating in projects as an SME, undertaking impact assessments and consulting on solutions.

This role is for you if

  • You have proven experience as a Business Analyst, with specific experience in Workday or HRIS systems.
  • You are experienced with Workday Compensation modules and compensation review processes.
  • You have familiarity with Workday Benefits and experience with salary sacrifice benefits and pension schemes.
  • Familiarity with Workday Extend application is desirable.
  • You have strong time and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on stakeholder management.
  • You have an analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • You have good knowledge of Alteryx for data preparation, analysis, and process improvement.
  • You are familiar with HR and payroll processes and best practices are preferred.
  • You have a solid understanding of payroll governance and statutory reporting.
  • You enjoy working as part of a team and with individual responsibility.
