Are you passionate about creating vibrant, sustainable, inclusive green spaces that enhance community wellbeing and biodiversity? We’re looking for a dynamic Park Operations Lead to drive the commercial development and high-quality management of some of the region’s most iconic destination parks.

About the Role:This is a senior leadership role focused on transforming the delivery of flagship parks through operational excellence, strategic planning, and innovative commercial ventures. You’ll be at the forefront of shaping a future where our destination parks are not only treasured public assets but also financially resilient community hubs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic and commercial development of destination parks.

  • Oversee daily operational management, ensuring safety, compliance, and service excellence.

  • Develop and implement a blended financial model, including commercial income strategies and funding bids.

  • Manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and deliver sustainable business plans.

  • Collaborate with partners, stakeholders, and the community to enhance visitor experiences and ecological value.

  • Provide leadership to Destination Park Managers, Team Leaders, and the Wildlife and Conservation Park Manager.

  • Deputise for the Head of Parks and Green Spaces as needed.

About You:You’re a confident, commercially-minded leader with a track record of delivering strategic improvements in parks, open spaces, or similar visitor destinations. You understand the importance of balancing operational delivery with sustainability and community engagement.

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in environmental management, conservation, leisure, or business management.

  • Proven success in operational leadership and developing commercial income streams.

  • Strong financial planning, reporting, and project management skills.

  • Demonstrable experience of stakeholder collaboration and volunteer engagement.

  • Sound knowledge of health and safety, environmental regulations, and sustainable asset management.
