Are you passionate about maintaining high standards, accuracy, and governance in financial processes?
We are looking for a dedicated Financial Risk & Controls Assurance Lead to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Systems and Controls Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the risk management and control assurance processes within the Finance function.
This role will work closely with the Finance leadership team, internal audit, and Enterprise Risk management team to ensure effective risk management and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Further Responsibilities Include
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships. A collaborative style is essential to build these effective working relationships within Finance and across the Business.
With a minimum of 3 years relevant accounting experience, they should have good knowledge and experience of financial controls processes and assessment/auditing techniques, including an appreciation of risk assessment and management.
The ideal candidate will work to a high level of accuracy and demonstrate good written, oral, and presentational communication skills and have the ability to complete tasks within very strict timescales
Additionally, the candidate must be able to prioritise team activities to fulfil service levels and meet month-end deadlines.
Holding a qualified accountancy qualification is desirable but not essential

- Assist in the development and implementation of key financial controls and risk management framework
- Conduct risk assessments, identifying areas for control enhancements and actions plans are owned and timebound
- Horizon scan for new and emerging risks liaising with the Finance senior leadership team to ensure appropriate controls are in place,
- Prepare reports and presentations for the respective audience on risk and control matters
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of documentation related to financial controls and risk management
- Own and maintain the Finance business continuity plans, evaluating each team’s plans
- Act as a data steward for Finance, ensuring processes using personal data are recorded and adhere to general data protection regulation.
