The Vacancy
Binnies, an RSK company, is looking for experienced Chartered Engineers to join our highly regarded Flood, Coast & Maritime team. With multiple locations across the UK, including Chester, Swansea, Birmingham, Bristol, and Bradford-on-Avon, you’ll have the opportunity to work on diverse flood and coastal projects. This role offers the chance to lead multidisciplinary teams and make a real difference on projects for clients such as Natural Resources Wales, the Environment Agency, and local authorities. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical delivery of flood risk management, coastal adaptation, and water resource projects.
- Manage multidisciplinary teams to produce high-quality project deliverables, ensuring they meet client specifications and stay within budget and schedule.
- Mentor junior engineers and graduates, guiding them toward professional qualifications.
- Collaborate with Delivery Managers and Project Managers for smooth project execution and commercial success.
- Support innovative solutions for river restoration, drainage, and sustainable infrastructure.
- Work on projects with contract values ranging from £50k to £500k.
- Possess a background in Civil Engineering, Water & Environmental Management, or related fields.
- Hold a professional engineering qualification with ICE, CIWEM, or similar body.
- Have experience in the flood and coast sector, including scheme design and appraisal.
- Demonstrate ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver high-quality work on time and within budget.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders effectively, presenting technical solutions clearly.
- Be familiar with NEC Professional Service Contracts (PSC) and capable of managing project changes.
- Experience in developing business cases and preferred options using FCERM Appraisal Guidance.
- Focus on sustainable solutions, supporting natural resource management and the journey toward net zero.
- Experience with site construction to improve design buildability.
