What you'll be doing:

To efficiently manage the provision of hard services in ambulatory care establishments, according to contractual and commercial requirements, including contract and commercial management, building and developing the business, staff management, and ensuring sector-leading service standards.


More about the role:

  • Facilities Management – Responsible for the delivery of hard services to Birmingham Treatment Centre PFI Project, including electrical, mechanical, fabric and building maintenance, specialist subcontractor services, hard landscaping, asset condition surveys, and Lifecycle and Variation delivery.

  • People/Team Management – Support, direct, and manage project staff, including performance management, motivation, and mentoring.

  • Financial Management – Oversee project P&L, budgeting, financial planning, and cost control, ensuring accountants are aware of issues or variances.

  • Contract Performance Management – Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, complete reports, maintain records, and develop awareness of all commercial aspects within the contract.

  • Customer Service – Ensure a sector-leading standard of customer service to clients, service users, and the public.

  • Client and Customer Liaison – Maintain excellent client relationships through personal contact, and promote good industrial relations.

  • Subcontractor Management – Manage contractors and service providers through regular reviews, ensuring service delivery meets contractual, client, and budget requirements.

  • Health and Safety – Maintain a safe environment, provide H&S advice, undertake risk assessments, and ensure statutory and legislative compliance.

  • Quality & Environmental Management – Ensure activities comply with quality and environment policies, conduct regular monitoring, and address non-conformities.

  • Other Duties – Perform any additional duties consistent with the role as assigned by the line manager.


Who you are:

Essential:



  • Management experience in FM roles with understanding of activities involved.

  • Experience in healthcare PFI contracts.

  • Managing complex service contracts.

  • Line management of professional staff and performance development.

  • Good IT skills including MS Office.

  • Health and Safety qualification and experience in audits and investigations.


Desirable:



  • Ability to present reports and statistical data clearly.

  • CPD or professional development plans.

  • Experience in healthcare AP/RP disciplines.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to prioritize, analyze data, and draw balanced conclusions.

  • Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.

  • Flexible, motivated, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
