Job Summary:

We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and experienced Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) to join our agency team, providing high-quality care across a variety of residential and nursing homes. As an agency worker, you will have the flexibility to choose shifts that suit your schedule, while gaining experience in different care environments and making a meaningful difference in the lives of residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, dressing, eating, and toileting.

  • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, promoting dignity and independence.

  • Help with the safe moving and handling of residents using appropriate equipment.

  • Support residents with nutritional and hydration needs, including preparing and assisting with meals.

  • Monitor and report any changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition to senior staff or nurses.

  • Ensure the maintenance of a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.

  • Accurately complete care records and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.

  • Work collaboratively with permanent care home staff to ensure continuity of care.

  • Adhere to safeguarding policies, infection control procedures, and all relevant health and safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant or in a similar care role (minimum 6 months preferred).

  • A caring, empathetic, and patient approach.

  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).

  • Mandatory training certificates (e.g., Moving & Handling, Infection Control, Safeguarding – recent and up to date).

  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends, evenings, and bank holidays.

  • Reliable transport may be required depending on shift location.

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).

  • Experience working in dementia care, palliative care, or complex needs settings.
