The role of Principal Data Analyst is pivotal in transforming the coverage and interoperability of our workforce analytics, built through effective partnerships and enterprise thinking, in order to deliver an extended suite of data and insight products alongside our existing capabilities. We want people to really enjoy working with us and get a buzz from knowing that what they are doing is making a difference and enhancing people's lives.
Interview Process
Supported by the Senior Principal Data Analyst, you’ll collaborate with HR Business Partners and BBC business units to discover, define, design, and implement both operational and analytical reporting across the entire contingent workforce lifecycle. You will play a key role in developing a strategic operational data capability, fully integrated with the existing HR People Analytics function.
In this role, you’ll be involved in all stages of the data product lifecycle. This includes identifying and analysing data sources, designing conceptual and physical data models, defining business-relevant measures and attributes, and producing deep dive analysis and operational reporting.
You’ll take ownership of implementation and adoption, working closely with teams across technology, product, and systems to ensure that processes, systems, and data products are effectively planned, developed, and delivered.
You’ll also be responsible for communicating insights and analysis generated from the data products you’ve built with key stakeholders from within the business, playing a vital role in supporting strategic changes to operational practices.
If you’re passionate about data and analytics, love solving complex problems, and want to be part of a high-performing team delivering critical work—let’s talk!
Are you the right candidate
We focus on hiring for potential at the BBC, so the main requirement for the position is a strong analytical mindset.
Some Of The Things We Love
The BBC is committed to redeploying employees seeking suitable alternative employment within the BBC for different reasons and they will be given priority consideration ahead of other applicants. Priority consideration means for those employees seeking redeployment their application will be considered alongside anyone else at risk of redundancy, prior to any individuals being considered who are not at risk.
We don’t focus simply on what we do – we also care how we do it. Our values and the way we behave are important to us. Please make sure you’ve read about our values and behaviours here
Diversity matters at the BBC. We have a working environment where we value and respect every individual's unique contribution, enabling all of our employees to thrive and achieve their full potential.
We want to attract the broadest range of talented people to be part of the BBC – whether that’s to contribute to our programming or our wide range of non-production roles. The more diverse our workforce, the better able we are to respond to and reflect our audiences in all their diversity.
We are committed to equality of opportunity and welcome applications from individuals, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, socio-economic background, religion and/or belief. We will consider flexible working requests for all roles, unless operational requirements prevent otherwise.
