The firm has a unique opportunity for an ambitious, collaborative and resilient individual interested in a career in HR. As part of our HR Services - Education team in our Business & Professional Risk department, there is a vacancy for a Trainee HR Advisor to join the team. Working closely with the Senior HR Consultants, HR Consultants and other HR Advisors, this role offers the chance to secure a CIPD Level 5 qualification whilst working within the HR Services team supporting Schools & Academies in our client portfolio. Within the role, you will spend 80% of your time on the job, becoming an active part in the care of education sector clients, building excellent relationships and dealing with queries as appropriate to provide exceptional client service. The other 20%, will be studying via an course provider, with the aim to achieve your CIPD Level 5 qualification.

So, what about the role itself?

If successful, you will be built up to provide client focused comprehensive and pragmatic HR advice and support to schools and academies in line with their specific policies, procedures and legal requirements. You will also supports the whole HR Services Team in the delivery of a high-quality HR service to education clients, including assisting with projects and complex casework. Other duties include:


  • Effectively managing the shared, regional HR inboxes.
  • Supporting the HR team in the provision of the day-to-day telephone and email service
  • Taking accurate, client facing minutes at meetings/hearings in schools and remotely as required
  • Drafting letters and other documentation, proof reading and undertaking research as required
  • Assisting in preparing/maintaining best practice HR policies, procedures and template documents


With the education and training responsibilities, you will be expected to obtain and maintain up to date knowledge for employment legislation and HR and be committed in attending workshops, seminars and courses to best achieve your CIPD qualification. As with all roles in the firm, you will be expected to continue your CPD through relevant sources to be achieve the qualification.
