We are currently seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Lead to oversee the Accounts Payable function for a major business unit. This is a high-impact role where you will manage supplier relationships, ensure compliance with KPIs and SLAs, and drive continuous improvement within the Accounts Payable process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage approximately £1.5 billion worth of payments and 165,000 invoices annually.
- Oversee £500 million worth of exceptions and 5,000 invoices per year.
- Act as the key liaison between the business and external service providers, ensuring effective relationship management.
- Lead stakeholder management for finance, procurement, suppliers, and service providers.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Handle Accounts Payable exceptions and query management, providing support and solutions to stakeholders.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and service quality.
- Provide training, create process documentation, and share best practices within the team.
- Ensure compliance with European Payment Term laws and local VAT & Tax regulations.
Key Criteria:
- Extensive experience in Accounts Payable, ideally within a fast-paced, multinational organization.
- In-depth knowledge of SAP and transaction-level processing.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience partnering with a BPO.
- Understanding of European VAT and Tax laws.
- Proven ability to lead, influence, and build strong working relationships.
- Continuous improvement mindset with experience in training others and creating process documentation.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
