Role:We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and hardworking School Caretaker to ensure our client's premises are clean, safe, secure, and well-maintained at all times. The role involves carrying out general repairs, maintenance, and site duties, as well as supporting with health and safety compliance and minor refurbishment projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine inspections of the school site and buildings
• Perform general maintenance tasks including basic plumbing, carpentry, and painting
• Monitor and maintain heating, lighting, and ventilation systems
• Ensure the school grounds are tidy and safe
• Manage contractors and service providers when on-site
• Carry out regular health and safety checks, fire alarm tests, and record keeping
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff
• Support with setting up rooms for events or special activities

About You:

• Can provide an up-to-date DBS Check
• Previous experience in a maintenance or caretaking role (school experience an advantage)
• A good understanding of health and safety regulations
• Basic skills in a range of trades (DIY, plumbing, electrical, decorating)
• Able to work independently, use initiative, and manage time effectively
• Friendly, approachable, and respectful, with a flexible attitude
• Committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people
• Willingness to undergo enhanced DBS clearance
