What’s the Opportunity
We have an opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager to join our team to work on a variety of public sector construction projects. For this role, construction consultancy experience is essential. We are particularly seeking candidates with healthcare project management experience.
You will also work as part of our project management discipline across a wide variety of sectors with world leading blue chip clients, world beating sporting teams, Automotive OEM’s, ground-breaking R&D organisations including defence, and some of the best academic research institutes.
What you need to do to be effective in this role
Role
Your primary role will support the team to deliver healthcare construction projects for NHS Trusts and involves the following key tasks:
Assisting with the day-to-day delivery of projects
Building relationships with clients
Development of project documentation and reporting
Submitting project information using the client’s format and processes
Attend, chair and record meetings as appropriate
Produce reports to suit relevant stages of the projects
Attend site to view construction progress
In addition to the above you will also be responsible for the following key activities:

In addition to the above you will also be responsible for the following key activities:
- Identifying and developing innovative solutions for clients
- Assisting with leading and managing multidisciplinary design teams
- Assisting with conducting feasibility studies, including site surveys, site investigation, site evaluation, etc
- Monitoring and reporting on contractor’s progress on site
- Supporting the team in developing new business opportunities
- Supporting the team managing existing client relationships
- Developing skills that will enable you to provide single point of contact taking responsibility for all aspects of the project and liaise with clients
- Construction project management experience is essential
- Experience of primary or acute healthcare projects
- Experience using Microsoft Office software and Microsoft Project
- Degree in a construction related subject is desirable, but not essential. All degree backgrounds will be considered
- Experience of delivering presentations
- Excellent communication skills to have gravitas with senior professionals
- Experience in report writing
