The Role
As a Junior Electrical Design Engineer, you will support senior engineers in delivering innovative and practical electrical design solutions across a variety of building services projects. This is a career-defining opportunity to grow your technical expertise while gaining hands-on project exposure in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the production of detailed electrical design drawings, specifications, and calculations.
- Support the design and coordination of electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, fire alarms, and more.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical reports and design documentation.
- Liaise with clients, architects, and other consultants as part of the project team.
- Attend site visits and surveys when required.
- Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices in sustainable and low-carbon design.
Requirements
- Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or related discipline).
- Ideally 6 months to 2 years of relevant industry experience (internships or post-grad roles welcome).
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Dialux/Relux, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of relevant British Standards and building regulations.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A proactive approach with a desire to learn, grow, and develop within a thriving consultancy.
