Our team is growing and we are looking to hire an experienced individual to deliver high-quality finance change services. The Finance Transformation Assistant Manager will be expected to work closely alongside Senior Managers and Directors, providing you with two unique opportunities. Firstly, to be involved in influencing and shaping the strategic development of our UK Finance team: driving innovation projects and championing change - bringing best practice, standardisation and efficiencies to our ways of working. And secondly, the opportunity to learn from the best in our business.

This exciting role will involve the following:

  • Leading small change projects/ supporting more complex/large change projects across Finance teams.
  • Working closely with Finance teams to analyse, understand and challenge existing ways of working.
  • Driving forward standardisation and improvements to processes.
  • Supporting standardisation and alignment across North & South Europe (NSE).
  • Identifying further opportunities for Finance to add commercial value.
  • Supporting adoption of existing and emerging technologies.
  • Supporting further adoption of the Global Finance Services (GFS) catalogue.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders and colleagues across all levels of business and internationally based on trust and impact.
  • Project managing and reporting on smaller projects and PMO on larger projects to give transparency on deadlines, accountability and risks.
  • Driving forward communications for the team to inform and gain commitment of key stakeholders and wider business of the value that the team brings to the UK Finance and the wider firm.
  • Development and maintenance of team dashboards with strategic KPIs to measure team performance.
  • Supporting change management activities to gain commitment of all required stakeholders related to finance change and transformation.
  • Supporting business case activities.
  • Delivering tasks on time with senior management expectations.
  • Delivering multiple pieces of work in parallel, both external facing and internal to the team.
  • Supporting development of our team’s brand and reputation.

You may also be involved in firmwide transformation projects including:

  • Storefront - to realign our businesses and how we go to market.
  • Integrated offerings - to support businesses working together across Europe.
  • NSE integration - to standardise and align Finance processes and teams.
  • Global Delivery Network - to facilitate colleagues offshore to work with UK clients.


Connect to your skills and professional experience

Please demonstrate the following for this grade (Assistant Manager):

  • Experience of project managing/leading small to medium continuous improvement projects (ideally in a matrix organisation) and supporting larger/more complex continuous improvement projects.
  • Understanding of core finance processes.
  • Experience in one or more of the finance strategy disciplines, i.e. finance operating model, cost reduction, modelling, finance strategy, finance diagnostic, business partnering or commercial finance or equivalent.
  • Exposure in and around communications and change management in the context of finance transformation.
  • Advanced MS Excel.
  • Advanced MS Access with the ability to efficiently query, manipulate and analyse data.
  • Proficiency in and experience with SQL including database design, connectivity, object-relational mapping, data cleaning and data visualisation.
  • Advanced MS PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams.
  • Visio and Miro would be advantageous.
  • Understanding of SAP S4 system would be advantageous.
  • (Agile) PRINCE2 or similar certification (or equivalent) would be advantageous.
  • Change management or equivalent certification would be desirable.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships across all business levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, people focused and agile.
  • Proactive, self-motivated and ambitious with ability to motivate others.
  • Strong change mindset.
  • Enthusiasm for continuous improvement.
  • Commercial acumen and customer service orientation.
  • Able to work individually and in teams (experience of working in an international virtual team would be an advantage).
  • Experience of working with senior finance professional.
  • Experience in a professional services firm would be an advantage.
  • Qualified/Part-qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

Finance and Legal

We provide financial management and accounting support that is aligned to each area of Deloitte’s business as well as the leadership team. We prepare the statutory and regulatory reporting required for Deloitte LLP and several other areas, whilst our General Counsel provides legal advice to the Board, the Executive and the Managing Partners.
