We are hiring! AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Mid-Level NEPA and Sustainability Practitioner to join our Planning and Environmental Team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Alexandria, Virginia, or Calverton, Maryland to support NEPA and sustainability projects across the US. The ideal candidate will have experience in NEPA and sustainability, preferably as a certified Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP), familiar with the Envision Framework by the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure.


The candidate will assist with coordinating deliverables for Envision projects, support or lead the Envision efforts on projects, and help develop and implement sustainability strategies. They will also provide updates at project milestones and coordinate with design disciplines and subject matter experts to achieve the desired verification levels.


Additionally, the candidate will assist in preparing NEPA documents and technical studies, support quality assurance/quality control, and coordinate with resource and environmental permitting agencies, local stakeholders, and the public.

How will you contribute to the team?



  • Support NEPA team and planning documents working with federal agencies.

  • Assist in preparing and reviewing Envision sustainability documents, including third-party reviews.

  • Coordinate and support NEPA and sustainability projects of varying complexity.

  • Collaborate with design professionals to identify issues, schedule delays, and opportunities for impact reduction.


What will you contribute?



  • Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Sciences, Sustainability, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.

  • 3+ years of experience with NEPA and technical studies, or in sustainability with Envision focus.

  • Professional attitude, attention to detail, ability to work independently and in teams, and manage multiple projects.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Office, familiarity with schedule management software.

  • Willingness to travel and possess a valid driver’s license.
