Responsibilities:
- Responsible for mechanical engineering coordination and preparation of drawings and technical documentation required for project execution across sectors such as pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, semiconductor, Data Center, chemical, petrochemical, and other industrial processing areas, including but not limited to:
- Review and analysis of regulatory requirements.
- Basis of Design / General Mechanical Drawings.
- Utility Equipment Arrangement / Calculations & Technical specifications.
- HVAC duct & piping, Plumbing & Utilities drawings.
- Review and development of detailed mechanical engineering.
- Bill of Materials take-off.
- Coordination and management of process equipment vendors.
- Technical clarification with vendors and/or subcontractors.
- Review shop drawings and execute TBE of vendor or subcontractor.
- Ensure design work interfaces well with other disciplines.
- Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards and procedures.
- Coordinate, oversee, and supervise site construction work and liaise with the site general contractor.
- Responsible for all mechanical engineering activities for basic and detailed design of an advanced manufacturing facility.
- Ensure technical & quality compliance of all mechanical documents and drawings.
- Coordinate efforts with other disciplines, clients, and third parties involved in the project.
- Review engineering deliverables, drawings, requisitions, and specifications for compliance with project standards and safety, operability, and maintainability considerations.
- Prepare DCNs and manage all changes within the mechanical discipline.
- Apply standards, procedures, and methods to maintain technical quality.
Requirements:
- Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent.
- Preferably registered PE (with BEM) or Chartered Engineer.
- 7+ years of engineering experience in advanced manufacturing industries.
- 7+ years of experience in basic and detailed design mandates for manufacturing facilities.
- Experience in Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical projects is preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD & 3D modeling tools such as SketchUp, 3D Max, Revit, etc.
- Knowledge of industrial factory design and standards.
- Thorough knowledge of Malaysia codes, local regulations, and international standards.
- Experience with engineering design in industrial manufacturing facilities.
- Familiarity with EN codes, Euro Codes, and Malaysia regulations.
- Experience with permitting processes in Malaysia for mechanical submissions.
- Understanding of BIM and eBIM submission requirements in Malaysia.
- Proficiency with office software and AutoCAD series, Revit, Navisworks.
- Knowledge of software for structural calculations.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Good communication skills.
