We are looking for Safety PSA Analysts to support the design of new nuclear power plants and the operation and refurbishment of existing CANDU plants. The senior PSA analyst will work with teams to develop and apply advanced analysis methodologies for PSAs and related safety analyses, including hazard identification, Level 1, 2, and 3 PSAs, seismic, flood, fire safety assessments, failure mode and effect analyses, and internal/external events. Candidates should also be able to develop training materials and review PSA documents.

Your role within the team:
The candidates should possess strong analytical and technical skills in PSA and be prepared to undertake various technical tasks swiftly. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform probabilistic safety assessments of plant systems, focusing on internal events, shutdowns, internal fire, flood, seismic events, and external hazards.
- Conduct reliability assessments of safety and process systems, including emergency core cooling, containment, BOP, and safety-related systems.
- Interface with clients and projects to evaluate operational and safety issues, advising on solutions.
- Prepare and review work proposals for clients.
- Develop risk monitoring tools and generate risk assessments.
- Apply PSA methodologies, codes, and standards (e.g., Canadian, US, IAEA).
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct detailed analysis phases for large projects.
- Propose approaches for safety analysis tasks.
- Coordinate with project management and multidisciplinary teams.
- Supervise staff work, ensuring quality standards.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to engineers and analysts.
- Promote teamwork and positive relationships.
- Ensure work aligns with project requirements.

The ideal candidate:
- Holds a relevant engineering degree with 5-10 years of experience
- Demonstrates the ability to fulfill responsibilities listed above
- Has excellent knowledge of CANDU design, including NSP and BOP
- Possesses broad understanding of system operation, plant response, and reliability principles
- Works effectively with clients
- Proficient in CAFTA, CFAST, and RiskSpectrum (assets)
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Can work under pressure and adapt to changing needs
- Knowledge of severe accident analysis and management guidelines
- Proven leadership skills
- Experience with licensing activities (assets)
- Understanding of light water reactor design and PSAs (assets)
- Initiative and team collaboration skills
- Ability to work within budgets and schedules
