Commissioning Manager

We are now recruiting for a Commissioning Manager to lead and support the successful handover of assets and associated activities that form part of the Metro expansion projects.

You will work in collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the seamless transition of project assets from Non-Operator Entities (NoE) to MML in accordance with established procedures.

You will be the key point of coordination, supporting documentation and verification processes, as well as contributing to the efficient handover and management of technical information.

You will be expected to have on-site presence during the commissioning and handover process

As Our Commissioning Manager, You Will Be Responsible For

Handover Activities: Actively participate in onsite asset handover activities including conformance to design and compliance with industry safety systems, snagging, remedies and other associated tasks

Coordination: Act as a central point of coordination between MML internal departments and external parties such as the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) / Transport for West Midlands (TfWM), Midland Metro Alliance (MMA) and Non-Operator Entities (NoE)

Information Management: Provide information verification services for received project documents, drawings and data, ensuring compliance with Document Control (DC) workflows.

Project Controls: Collate feedback and comments from MML internal teams and relay these to TfWM and the MMA through the established DC processes

Project Support: Support the Project Officers and Document Coordinator in obtaining and verifying construction and as built drawings and specifications, together with the uploading of technical information into the Common Data Environment (CDE), ensuring compliance with agreed Building Information Modelling (BIM), Exchange Information Requirements (ExIR) and established naming conventions

Any other task as may be reasonably required within the job holder’s capabilities

To be successful in this role, it is essential that you have:

  • Experience of asset handover for large scale infrastructure, rail / metro / Civil Engineering or highways projects
  • Familiarity with Project Management tools and practices
  • Sound knowledge of Document Control systems and protocols, together with their integration into asset lifecycle management
  • Strong organisational skills with demonstrable attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating across teams and stakeholders, with a preference for experience of working with Government or Local Authorities in a industry regulated environment
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field, or professional path progression with GCSE grade C (or equivalent) or above in English
  • Working knowledge of Bently ProjectWise (or another recognised document control system, asset management and information controls
  • Understanding of ISO 19650 standards and their application to asset handover and document control

It Would Be Great If You Had

  • Good level desktop IT tools and systems
  • Excellent reporting skills
  • Solid experience in 2D CAD
  • Knowledge and experience in 3D CAD would an advantage but not a necessity
