Location: Birmingham ( fully on-site )
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary Package: £23,809.50 plus large company benefits, a broad flexible benefits scheme, and 2 paid-for volunteering days a year
Hours: 07:45 am - 16:15 pm Monday – Friday
Interview Process: 2-stage process

The purpose of the data erasure role is to ensure the secure and compliant removal of data from our customers data bearing devices. The role is critical for maintaining data privacy, adhering to legal and regulatory requirements, and protecting SCC from data breaches and related risks.
Security clearance or the willingness to apply will be required for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Removing data from customer IT equipment using bespoke software.
- Physically assess and grade IT equipment in preparation for sale or refurbishment.
- Performing data entry activities on a bespoke SCC system recording essential criteria.
- Working as part of a team to ensure all IT equipment is data safe before leaving the department.
- To process all customer units within agreed OLA’s/SLA’s, with focus on attention to detail while ensuring customer requirements and expectations are met.
- Achieve key performance indicators and targets, thereby ensuring the maximum productivity of the facility, whilst maintaining efficiency and quality.
- To undertake any training programs regarding all processes and procedures, thereby ensuring total compliance to all relevant company policies such as (but not limited to) Health and Safety, Safe Systems of Work and the Traffic Management Plan.
- Ensure a high level of security awareness is maintained.
- To undertake any other duties commensurate with the position (including specific project activity and covering for absence from the overall Recycleateam) to maintain overall departmental effectiveness.
- To ensure all customer equipment is handled carefully to always avoid damage.
- To project a pro-active and positive attitude when communicating with external/internal customers. To maintain a friendly, professional service always.
- Previous experience in a similar role or adaptable person who can be suitably trained.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively.
- Must be computer literate.
- Security Clearance is mandatory for this role. Successful applicants without clearance will be put through the vetting process on joining.
