Principal Systems Engineer – Model-Based Systems Engineering

Salary: Up to £65,000 + benefits

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

As a Principal Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving MBSE adoption across complex systems and multi-disciplinary teams. You will:

Lead the development of MBSE frameworks to enhance system design, integration, and lifecycle management

Apply SysML, UML, and architectural frameworks (TOGAF, MODAF) to develop system models

Support system integration efforts by implementing digital twin methodologies and model-driven verification

Collaborate with stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into actionable insights

Apply risk management and systems thinking to ensure robust, resilient system architectures

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Proven experience as a Systems Engineer with a strong MBSE background

Expertise in SysML, UML, Archimate, TOGAF, MODAF, DOORS Requirements

Familiarity with MBSE tools such as Cameo, Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect, or Capella

Strong understanding of systems integration, digital engineering, and lifecycle management

Experience working in consultancy or client-facing roles

BONUS SKILLS

Experience with dual-use platforms (military & civilian systems)

Knowledge of AI-driven MBSE approaches and Digital Thread concepts
