This is a new and extremely exciting opportunity for a keen individual who is looking for a challenge and to develop their skills and knowledge in a specialist area. The post involves being a part of the region's largest HIV and the country's largest sexual health services and provides a platform to develop the pharmacist role even further within these specialties.


About the Role


The role focuses on providing a high quality, safe and patient focused clinical pharmacy service within HIV and sexual health and to meet professional and Trust standards. The post holder will develop specialist knowledge of sexual health and HIV and promote the practice of evidence-based medicine. There will be a significant patient facing aspect of the role within HIV clinics and involvement in adherence support, switching medication and pharmacist led clinics. The role also includes the management of the Umbrella formulary, development and implementation of Patient Group Directions (PGDs) as well as Clinical Guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other medicines related documents. The pharmacist will also participate in various Multidisciplinary Team Meetings (MDTs), including the PrEP MDT and the weekly HIV MDT, amongst others. This post is split between the HIV service at QEH and the Umbrella Sexual Health service at Whittall Streeet.
