What You’ll Do

As the Fibre Lead will be aligned to a specific customer programme, working on complex requirements, and acting as lead for fibre deployment, splicing and assurance activities, whilst also working alongside and supporting the wider VBSE field services team. Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Lead on internal site splicing works, including training and support for regional field team members
  • Carry out fibre testing & review results with SME’s
  • Support with fibre planning activities and network reservations
  • Creation of deployment plan/packs
  • Act as SME for assurance activities including expected fibre loss calculations
  • Act as an escalation point for field fibre issues
  • Ensure that field colleagues are kept up to date with evolving fibre specifications and regulations
  • Production and review of fibre specific Local Work Instructions (LWIs) and associated process documentation


Who You Are

  • In-depth technical knowledge of Fibre delivery,
  • Experience and knowledge of internal site fibre splicing
  • In-depth knowledge of GIS and other geospacial mapping tools
  • Ability to manage multiple demands & workflows, manage to deadlines and priorities
  • Understanding of the systems used to manage and deliver customer/project orders (e.g. Clarify, ORMT, GIS etc)
  • Experience of concurrently managing multiple initiatives of differing size and complexity to meet business expectations
  • Experience of carrier technologies and delivery methodologies


Security Clearance: This position requires the eligibility and ability to obtain and hold UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.
