This role ensures that every pound is spent wisely, contractor performance is tightly monitored, and our investment decisions are rooted in insight and value
What's the role? Responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:
- Analysing contractor applications for payment, tracking costs, and ensuring contractual compliance across our planned works and asset management programmes.
- Identifying cost trends, forecasting variances, and producing regular reports that inform budget holders and senior leadership.
- Working closely with Contract Managers and the wider asset team to spot efficiencies, validate works, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Supporting the Commercial Investment Manager in building budgets, ensuring financial obligations are met, and providing accurate data for strategic decisions.
- Monitoring KPIs and performance data to track contract health and proactively address risks or underperformance.
- Acting as a financial critical friend – providing insight, constructive challenge, and clear reporting to support effective programme delivery.
Our ideal candidate? Your CV and cover letter will highlight:
- A HNC/HND or equivalent in construction, quantity surveying, or a financial discipline.
- Experience managing the financial elements of planned works, responsive repairs, or voids contracts – ideally within housing or a related sector.
- A good working knowledge of contract types, procurement processes, and contractor performance monitoring.
