Job Title: Requirements Systems Engineer

Location: Portsmouth - Hybrid

Role Type: Permanent

Salary: £45,000 - £52,000 per annum depending on experience

Our client, an established defence engineering firm, require an experienced Requirements Systems Engineer to join their multi-disciplined team.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work on a new Concept of System being integrated on to one of the world’s most advanced defence platforms.

What the role of the Requirements Systems Engineer entails:

Some of the main duties of the Requirements Engineer will include:

• Authoring System Requirements Specifications and Subsystem Technical Specifications


• Participation in trade studies including defining key performance requirements


• Technical management of equipment suppliers including review of deliverable documentation and participation at Design Reviews/Acceptance events


• Planning and supporting Verification and Validation activities both with Supplier and at Combat System Integration facilities


• Preparing evidence for Customer Acceptance


• Providing regular updates on project status/progress in accordance with project specific reporting cycles


• To contribute to identification and rapid closure of issues emerging from all product lifecycle stages and to manage the resulting change embodiment activities

What experience you need to be the successful Requirements Systems Engineer:

• Degree qualified or equivalent experience in a relevant engineering discipline


• Experience of requirements management


• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills


• Experience of System Engineering lifecycle


• Knowledge of the Left Side of the V-Model – Requirements elicitation, systems architecture & design etc
